John “Ross” Jackson ’02 completed a 14-year career with the United States Navy on August 31, 2014, having flown the FA-18 Super Hornet, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and F-5 Tiger II, accumulating nearly 2,000 flight hours and 350 arrested landings as part of Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT SIX. He ended his career with the rank of lieutenant commander. Ross transitioned to the Texas Air National Guard on September 1, 2016, as a pilot and an F-16 Fighting Falcon flight instructor for future U.S. Air Force fighter pilots. He is now a major in the Air National Guard at the 182nd Fighter Squadron in San Antonio, Texas.
