When the 2011 Texas Super Lawyers were announced in Texas Monthly at year’s end, 34 Austin College alumni showed up on its listing of the top 5 percent of lawyers in the state—and two alumni could be deemed “super stars,” named to the Top 100 Lawyers in the state. (Considering Texas has 90,000+ attorneys, that’s a pretty impressive feat!)
The Austin College super stars are Charla M. Aldous ’82 and William R. Allensworth ’68. Charla, owner of the Aldous Law Firm in Dallas, also was named among the Top 50 Women Lawyers in Texas. Allensworth is founder of Allensworth and Porter firm in Austin. Both have been included in numerous annual Super Lawyer listings.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Lawyers from all firm sizes are included. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.
