Dr. Kerry Yancy Dolan ’85 completed a Master of Criminal Justice in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from the University of Mississippi in 2022. In 2023, she used this training as the basis to become the first physician in the state of Mississippi to be certified in disaster medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialties, and one of only four physicians in the U.S. to achieve this certification last year. She put her knowledge into action and led her workplace, the Pediatric Emergency Department at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, in the disaster response for the Rolling Fork Tornado in spring 2023.
