Traci Howard Moore joins Austin College this fall as the director of student success and transition. A member of the Academic Affairs staff, Moore’s work provides another resource to ensure student success in the classroom and in other elements of the college experience.
She joins several other campus resource professionals who are dedicated to assisting students to navigate the college experience and to access services that will help them be successful.
Moore has worked in a variety of student services roles during her career. She began working in higher education as an admission counselor at Nebraska Wesleyan University. There, she went on to develop and lead persistence efforts for underrepresented students.
She then spent 16 years at California Western Law School in San Diego, working as director of diversity, and later, as assistant dean for admissions.
Moore moved to Texas in 2015 and accepted a position as college and career counselor at Collin College where she helped high school students develop and navigate through their post high school plans.
She said she is pleased to join the Austin College staff and looks forward to helping students realize their goals.
Having completed a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Moore earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from San Diego State University.
