Jian Hu, Ph.D., assistant professor of cancer biology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center will present “Will Brain Tumors Ever Be Cured?” at the 6th annual Austin College Women’s Health and Cancer Forum on Thursday, December 5. Hu will deliver the keynote at 4:30 p.m. in IDEA Center 127; the forum is free and open to the public.
Hu earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Fudan University and his master’s degree in molecular biology from Shanghai Cancer Center, both in in Shanghai, China. He completed his Ph.D. in biochemistry and biophysics at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed a research fellowship at the Dana Farber Cancer Center of the Harvard medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and was an instructor in cancer biology at MD Anderson Cancer Center Department of Genomic Medicine in Houston, Texas. He has received many awards and honors related to his cancer research and is widely published.
Science students will present poster talks in the IDEA Center that day, beginning at 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
