The Sherman Community Players and Austin College have partnered to produce the live musical Mamma Mia*, which opens this weekend in Austin College’s Sally and Jim Nation Theatre in Ida Green Communication Center, with shows tonight and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at a 2 p.m. matinee. Tickets—$20 each for adults and $15 each for students—may be purchased through the SCP website or at the door as long as seating is available. The show runs through June, and starting next week, are also presented on Thursday evenings. Masks are required. No food or drinks are allowed in the building.
Austin College’s own talented faculty, staff, and students are part of the cast and staff of the production. Watch for leading cast members Ed Richardson, Legal Advocacy Program Coach, and Lily Boessen ’23 (daughter of Brett and Kate!), and see dancing islander Christopher Maniet of the Marketing & Communications team. Liz Banks, Associate Professor of Theatre, and Dan Pucul, Technical Coordinator of Nation Theatre, are part of the professional production and design team.
Enjoy! Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve had that title song go ’round and ’round in your mind …
